Kids Kasa is a foster care agency created to serve the needs of children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect. With over 50 years of combined experience and knowledge in the child welfare field, our daily goal is to ensure every child and foster family is supported and has the tools they need to be successful.  

At Kids Kasa, we do this by forming a support team around the child and foster family consisting of social workers and other support staff who have decades of experience working with children in difficult circumstances, to give the parents and children the professional assistance and guidance to help the whole family thrive.

Training

Kids Kasa understands that the best way to help a child is to adequately prepare our foster families. To do so, we require every family goes through our structured training program.

  • I was placed into foster care at the age of 12 along with my brothers and sisters. I chose to remain in foster care instead of going home to my family because I knew that things at home would not change and that I'd end up in foster care or incarcerated in the future. I have lived with the same foster parents, Veronica & Augustin Ramirez, since I was 12 years old and continue to live with them today as I go to college at Fresno State. Because of Kids Kasa's Education Fund I've been able to continue attending school and get help with the purchase of books, a laptop, a car, and any necessary repairs. Thank you to all the runners in the Wascally Half Marathon who help raise money for me and future foster kids

  • I am a former foster youth and one of the beneficiaries of the Kids Kasa Educational Fund. Entering the foster care system required me to grow up and become independent at a young age. I always knew education was my way of making it out. In the spring of 2015, I earned my bachelor’s in Political Science. I am currently obtaining my masters in Public Administration with an emphasis in public policy. As a first generation, former foster youth, Latina woman, getting a higher education was not easy. I am forever grateful for Kids Kasa and the community for their support towards foster kids.

  • We decided to become foster parents to give back to the community. I have always been interested in child development; however, I didn't realize the huge need for good foster parents who can meet the needs of children in foster care. It is very rewarding to be the positive piece in these children’s lives that have been through too much! We have been very fortunate to be a part of the Kids Kasa team. Kids Kasa is very supportive and assists with getting the children on the right track. Whenever we’ve had any questions or issues, Kasa has always answered the phones regardless of day or time. They have always supported their families through the county process and attend any meetings with you. I highly suggest using Kids Kasa and being part of the Kasa family!
